Long before Charlene Sargent became a nurse, she was already a caregiver, tending to her grandmother who lived just across the street. Even as a child, Charlene’s instinct to care for others, especially seniors, was evident. What began as a simple act of love grew into a lifelong mission.
Founded in 2006, Helping Hands Senior Services is a family-owned business grounded in compassion, trust, and decades of experience. Charlene earned her nursing degree from Arizona State University and brings over 30 years of hands-on expertise in hospice care, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, and addiction treatment centers. Her work in hospice especially revealed how overwhelming and emotional it can be for families to find the right assisted living solution. That experience inspired her to guide others through this journey.
As Helping Hands grew, so did the family’s involvement. Charlene’s daughter, Lacey, became a Senior Placement Specialist and co-owner. Her sister-in-law serves as a Senior Placement Specialist for the East Valley, and her brother-in-law brings his skills to the team as a Physical Therapist. Charlene’s husband also plays a key role as our Account Consultant Specialist.
Together, we’re a team and a family dedicated to walking alongside you with empathy and personalized support during life’s most challenging transitions. We’re honored to help make a difference in the lives of seniors and the people who love them.
